hotel: we only slept in an hotel in Moster – Bosnia

apartments: most of the times we slept in apartments because it was cheaper and more easy for us because we also had an rental car and need to park this also overnight.
Rental car company:
We booked at Ryanair car rental by the company
Sixt, Reijka. Good service and a good trusted car. We had an Fiat Panda Cross. Good enough for Croatia and Bosnia.

Zagreb:
Where we stayed:
Apartment Times inn – a apartment just outside the city there is a parking. Its an old apartment on the 3 and 4 flour of the building. Room was fine and had some air-conditioning.
What we did, what we recommend:
Zagreb is an really energized city there is a lot to do.

Its also famous for the festivals during the summer, so yes we visit an free festival a small one but great to ½ liters beers moving on the bars, and hear some local artist.

The cable car, there is an small cable car who bring you to the top Zagreb just to get an noce view.

The old tunnels, this War tunnels are stile in use and open for tourist, its also easy to cross the city. Don’t take a lot of time to visit but it worth the visit if you realise people lived her during the war.

Ban jelacic square this central square is not open for cars. But around the square there are a lot of nice streets with bars, shops and more.

Sint stefanus cathedral. Outside of the cathedral are some of the historic items of the original cathedral. That one get lost during an earthquake.

Tkalciceva, this is the most stylize street of Zagreb,

Ivana talcica, when your hungry and don’t now what you want to eat, try this street there are a lot of restaurant some of them are also really good rated, you can eat there every taste around the world, but I prever you just eat Croatian food, because that’s why you’re here 😛

There are also some castle you can easily visit but you have to take an tour or have a car at your disposal. 1st one is the veliki tabor castle entrance from 9 to 17 on weekdays and the entrance price wil be around 15 HRK ( children around 10 HRK), good part of this castle is you can park your car at the beginning of the castle so you do not have to make an climb al the way to the top. Nearby the castle there is also an great winery who not only has good wines but also an amazing view over the castle

2nd Trakoscan castle this one need a longer ride but also realy worth and visit. Its not only on top of an mountain but also on an great lake, its possible to go on the lake with an boot, we didn’t do this. This castle is also stile in an good shape so you can really experience the castle.

Go to the city “Kuterevo” for the Bear sancutuary. This is an volunteer organization. Its free to visit the bears. Just walk around see how the small black, brown and big brown bears life here. They take good care of them. Only thing they need is an small offer money or buy just on of there hand made souffinirs.

What we did, what we recommend:

Trsat casle, unfortunly this caslte whas under renovation, but still you have a nice over the city and there is a nice stop for a drink

Where we stayed:
Apartment kozina – this really new apartment just outside the city centre with very good air-conditioning, car parking and a good service. The owners also speak good English and Germain.
What we did, what we recommend:

Plitvice lakes – the famous lakes of Croatia. the prices depants on the seasons. You can go by tour but its also really easy to go there on your own. Sea organ – the sea organ makes an great sound when the water is moving, you can sit on the stairs and enjoy an great sunset

Sun salutation – this flours are changing every time from color what gives a amazing view and also here you find the most funny photos.

In the centre you’ll find the church of st donatus. In the front you find a lot of old architecture and next to it is the bell tower of st Anastasia. Where you can easy go to the top just 10 HRK and 180 stair steps for an great view.

Just walk around the city stop and some amazing shops for souvenirs ( much cheaper here then in split or dubrovnik ) or just enjoy the city in his beauty

Visit “Nin” from nature an small habour town, when you walk throw the small town you’ll find some og the history. But now a days a lot of people go here to enjoy the beaches less busy then in split.

Where we stayed:
Apartment Marica – really clean apartment on the 10th flour of and old complex. Parking is not so easy there are a few spots but they are always in use. Across the street is an big parking on an building side. The area os the apartment is in total renovation, so it does not really look clean and save but it is. Supermarkt is nearby and beach is 20 min walk. By cap/uber to the center is around 10/15 min
What we did, what we recommend:

First of all do not try to get by car to the center, just take a uber because parking is not easy

Under the apartment youll find restaurant calypso. This Italian restaurant is really good mentioned and possible to order and delivery. And its really good priced

Make a picture at the capital letter “SPLIT” at the riva boulevard or take an walk over the boulevard

Go under diolectian’s palace. Walk under the city and see how they lived. For 40 kn

There is also a free market under in the palace

Walk on the ground flour of the palace and every day around 12 o clock there will be some artist to show you how the guards protected the palace. And for just 5 kn you can visit the top and see over the city

See the sun go under on an boat. There are a lot of choices, we choose the pirate ship, the price was around 200 kn ea.

There are also trips to the blue caves and blue lakes they are between the 60-100 euros ( if you also go to Dubrovnik ill will recommend you to do this trips here because it will be cheaper )

Apartment nino – in the center of Skradin. Friendly people and parking area ( whole day free parking also easy if your gonna visit krka )
What we did, what we recommend:

Krka national park – this is one of the must visits of Croatia. This national parks with a lot of waterfalls is really beautiful. But be reminded that in the high season everyone would like to go here so its will be very busy. The best time to go here is by the first boat. And leave when it get to crowded. Its possible to swim under the waterfalls but I recommend you swimming shoes because of the stones in the water. Www.Np-krka.ru/en/ prices depants on the seasons

Where we stayed:
Apartment Rukavina – this is not the most cheap apartment and a bid old but its less then 100m meters from the beach, free parking area, an really great roof terras, 20 km from reijka, 6 km from the airport and they offer an shuttle.
What we did, what we recommend:

We used this as an last stop before we went back to the airport, because its nearby and really great to just join the beach.

Dubrovnik:
Where we stayed:
Apartment Anamarija ( mokosica ) – this is just 5 km outside of the center of Dubrovnik. There is an possibility to park you car in front. There surpose to be an beach nearby but we could not find it. We just swim in the front where is an harbour. Everything is old but there is also an roof terrace with view over the water/harbour.
What we did, what we recommend:

Uber. Take an uber to the city center. Parking wil be around 50/60 kn a hour. And an uber from our hotel ( around 5 km ) is like 15 kn. To give an idea of the price

Visit the Fort Lovrijenac on top of the hill price is around 100 kn. ( keep your ticket, it gives discount on the walls of Dubrovnik )

Visit the walls of Dubrovnik around 200 kn ( if you show your ticket from the fort you get 100 kn discount, or when you safe your ticket and move on the the fort after it will be for free ). For an great moment on the walls when its not to crowed go early.

Visit the harbour. Here youll also find boot trips to the blue lakes and caves ( same tours as in split ). If you like to do an tour like this do it here the blue caves as example are here 60€ in split 80-100€

A lot of people also go here for the famous “Game of thrones tours”

Stradun – in this street youll move 500 years back in time, this street is famous because it let youll feel your back in time. And also here they filmed the “last yeti”

Konavoski dvori – this restaurant is an must visit its around 30 min drive but youll eat next to an waterfall and they serve classic Croatian food. It’s an bit expensive but totally worth. Also possible to walk around the restaurant for an nice hike.
Mostar – Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Where we stayed:
Hotel Patria – a short walk to the city center, very good price and quality. And very new with an great breakfast.
What we did, what we recommend:

Stari most – the famous old bridge. The bridge is an symbol for Mostar. There is a lot of activity around and when you wait possible there will some one just from it for an amount of money. Also in the night there will be a lot of light around it

Visit an museum that tells you about the bridge, city and war. Youll pass a lot when you are walking around the city ( most of the time you’ll got to pay cash, so be prepared.

Eat near the water with an view over the bridge

Buy a souvenir, they are still recovering from the war and tourist are one of there most important income.

Crooked bridge. Its looks like the stari most but its 10 times smaller and there is not an waiting line like the stari most for an nice empty picture.

Near the water there is an mosk with minarette what is possible to visit and climb to the top. Youll got to pay an small entrance fee, but have an great view over the city and bridge
There is also a lot around mostar that we recommend:

Pocitelj – this old city ruines are possible to be climbed and get an view from upstairs and see how the people lived

Medugorje – this is an small mountain village, place of pilgrimage. the St. James Parish church is an visit for pilgrims all over the world.

There is an wine route around Mostar for some fine wines

An photo safari to the national park Hutovo Blato. Here you’ll find a lot of bird species.

Kravica waterfalls. you can compare this waterfalls to the krka waterfalls in Croatia. but this ones are way better, its less crowded, the entrance fee is a lot less and here you can easy walk/swim in the water, there are no big stones. ( oow and yes its alowed to swim near the waterfalls )
