Busses: there are a lot of mini busses who travel true the whole country from Baku.

city busses: the citys busses youll most of the time have to pay by cash, sometimes its possible to use a bus card. price is ₼0,2 AZN

Trains: an fast way to travel is by train, trains go to the bigger citys and its possible to cross the border to Georgia from baky train station. this will be an night train and the price will be differt from the 1st, 2nd and 3 class. Trains will leave here from 28 MAY metro station. the train station in in the baseground of the shopping mall. here you can buy and reservate your tickets.

Metro: for the metro you need an card and the price will be just ones ₼2 AZN for the card and ₼0,2 AZN for 1 ride. ( they might changed the prices to ₼0,3 AZN ). they also have an thempory card this will be ₼0,2 AZN for maximum of 4 rides.

Hotel/Hostels/guest houses;

we used booking.com

  • hotel: we just used one time a hotel, we made the reservation with booking.com and we did this to get a good start at our journey. from here we had just some extra luxer. But this means also that it wil cost you more money then a hostel.

  • guest houses, some citys dont have hotels or they are really over prices then is an guest house your alternative. you will like it, most of this is by friendly familys

Where we stayed: in 2 diverend hotels in the metropolis

  • Terrace hotel: this is an new hotel, just outside the city center but from 10 minut walk from the metro station. they have there owntaxi serves and you got an vieuw over the city center and also your close by the museum of the old precedent.

  • Nemi hotel: this hotel is around the fountain square and nearby the old city center. only try to avoid the rooms on the ground floor

What we did, what we recommend:

  • Tours: in the old city center youll find a lot of companys who sell tours, they are cheaper then online.

  • Raison tower, inside the old city center there is a maison tower where you can get in to get information about the tower, city history and view over the old city center

  • Old palace: bring a visit to the old palace inside the old city

  • Mini book museum: here the have the biggest collection of mini books and the smallest book in the world.

  • Flame towers: there is an bar with a small view over the city but there is an hotel all the way to the top with a big view over the city.

  • Dagustu: this square is an really good lookout over the boullevart, city and sea.

  • Fire tempel, this old tempel is easy to get by taxi or do in an tour, you have to pay ₼4 AZN fee. this is an old tempel with in the old time an natural burning fire.

  • Yanar dag: burning mountain. this mountain already burns for 5000 year without stopping on an natural gas. the entrance fee is ₼2 AZN

  • Qobustan, natural park gobustan: here you will find old petroglyphs for 8000 years old and an museum about the petroglyphs here and acound the world and there connections. entrance fee ₼5 AZN

  • Qobustan mud vulcanos: in the city of Qobustan youll find taxis if you dont book an tour you have to pay them otherwise it included. they drive like crazy to the top of the mountain where the mud volcanos are. these are really special because they are cold. they also say that its good for your skin.

  • Art, there is a lot of art around the city

  • Walk around the city and boullevard.

  • Take an taxi to the beaches away from baku.

  • If you stay an longer time and like to leave the city do an tour to sheki and maby you can stay here a view days. this is the romantic city of azerbaijan.
