Busses: there are a lot of mini busses who travel true the whole country, in Tbilisi from metro station Didube you can easy take a bus to where else in the country. be carefull the ways are bad and busses are small, but cheap.

City busses: the citys busses youll most of the time have to pay by cash, sometimes its possible to use a bus card. price ₾ 0,5 GEL

Trains: an fast way to travel is by train, trains go to the bigger citys and its possible to cross the border to azerbaijan bij an night train. the prices are diverend you can travel 1st, 2nd or 3 class. From Tbilisi you have to go metro station Station Square, its up in the mall where you have to reservate your tickets.

Metro: for the metro you need an card, and temporary or an lengthy one, price for an ride is ₾0,50 GEL and ₾0,30 GEl extra for maximal 4 rides on an temporary one. An lenghty one is ₾2 GEl but for unlimated rides.

Train mtatsminda amusement park Tbilisi: This is a fair on top of the mountain in Tbilisi city. Here are a lot of attractions for litlle childeren, but als here you have an nice view over the city and old town, and there is a restaurant with good food and not to overpriced. there are 2 way to go, first its possible to go by the road, take an bus, taxi or drive youself. then you pay for the parkinglot. or you can take the train, this is what we did. you have to walk to the begin of the train, here youll have to buy a card for the train as we can rember ₾14 gel icludid the card price that you can keep and reuse. this is for a 2 way, there is no entrance fee for the park. and the way back we stopt half way. there is an famous monastry you can visit and from here you can easy walk down.

Rent a car: think really good abour renting an car. its not cheaper to rent an car or do tours. but when you rent an car you are free to go everywhere and see a lot of this beautifull country, best car to rent will be an 4×4 because there are a lot offroads. they are busy to make an highway from Tbilisi to batumi what maby in the future will be mutch easyer to drive. they also drive crazy so be carefull. benzine 95 will be around ₾2,50 GEL a liter

Hotel/Hostels/guest houses:

We used booking.com

  • Hotel: we just used one time a hotel, we made the reservation with booking.com and we did this to get a good start at our journey. from here we had just some extra luxer. But this means also that it wil cost you more money then a hostel.

  • Guest houses, some citys dont have hotels or they are really over prices then is an guest house your alternative. you will like it, most of this is by friendly familys

Tbilisi:

Where we stayd: for the first view days we stayed in Tbilisi, from here we visit the city and old town, did some tours and traveld on our own to other citys and also took an train to Baku – Azerbaijan.

Hotels:

  • David sultan hotel: this hotel is close by freedome sqaure and had really friendly staff, price good but not cheap

  • Old cellary hotel: this hotel in more inside the city and cheaper then the david sulten, but here they dont cleaned our room and the entrance is inside the shop down.

What we did, what we recommend: there is a lot to do in tbilisi

  • Monasty’s: youll find in Georgia a lot of monasty’s from diverend religions, they are all diverend and beautifull

    Narikala: this on al old ruine of an fort an top of the mountain in Tbilisi, you can here by an cable cart and the price is ₾3 gel a ride and you can use the card from the metro

  • Mother of Georgia: also here you can go with the same cable cart.

  • Bath houses: there are in tbilis a lot of bath houses from natural hot water. we went in the Orbeliani bath house. the prices are different for house and room. prepair your self it smells a lot and its really hot, but good for your skin.

  • Botanic garder: ther is an botanic garden with an waterfall here you can swim and walk around price ₾4 gel a person.

  • Waterfall: there is also an waterfall inside the city center for here you can walk easy and is free to watch.

  • Art: if you like art then in the whole city there are a lot of modern and old art sculptures.

  • Fairytale clock tower: this clock tower in the old city center just behind the old puppetry, every hour you can watch it still working.

  • Tours: there are a lot of tours to do inside and outside the city, every where on the street they sell them, it cheaper then online.

  • Local busses: from metro station didube leave all the busses to whole the country, here you also buy the tickets.

Mtskheta: 

What we did, what we recommend: we just been here to visit some around

  • Museum: there are a lot of museums to visit.

  • Jvari church: this is an really beautifull church protacted by Unesco, from here you have an nice view over the city Mtskheta.

  • Markets: there are a lot of markets in the city center, here it’s possible to buy great gifts and memory’s/souvenirs.

  • Samtavro monastry: this big monastry take some time of you. walk around and look inside, drink natural mineral water and maby youll see an serves or wedding.

Vardzia:

Where we stayed;

Guesthouse Geno: this is an guest house thet is renewing to an hotel, there have ther own natural hot water pools, clean rooms, friendly staff and there own restaurant. it also nearhy the cave city, they also have ther natural water source

What we did, what we recommend:

  • Vardzia: of course this is the most famous thing to do here, this big cave city is worth to walk around, i takeds an view ours to go al the way to the top on one side to the otherside back down. but when you think about people made this back in the days youll be amazed. its also protected by Unesco

  • Armenia: you are at the borden where you can go to armenia

  • Borjomi: you will past this city when you go to vardzia, it worth to make an stop, visit the famous water source, or take an ride in the cable cart or in the winter go for wintersports.

Telavi:

Where we stayed:

Guest house Marinella: this hostel is about 2km about the city center of televi, they have there own parking and really good wine. and the are really kind to there guest.

What we did, what we recommend:

  • Vineyards: you are in Kakheti region, this is the oldest region in the world about wine. you can visit varioys vineyards and houses, do tastings and get an walk around. we went to shumi wine house. the tasting cost ₾20 gel for 4 really Georgian wines and some snacks to pair with, and the tour cost ₾7 gel to see the cellars, and qvervi where they make the wine in.

  • Signagi: the other famous wine city.

  • David Gareja monastry: this is an old monastry on top of the mountain gareja, this is not yep protacted by Unesco and they are renovating it now. but this ols monastry is beautifull, have some cave houses and if you like hiking you can go to the top and watch over the border to azerbaijan.

Batumi: 

Guesthouse my warm house: this guest house is in the city center and really cheap compair to the hotels in the city center. the room where like appartments and its even possible to cook.

Beggars: you will see here a lot of beggars, they are not real beggars they just know a lot of tourist come here so they can make good money by begging. 

What we did, what we recommend:

  • Do an walking tour true the old town.

  • Visit one of the high buildings like to abc tower for an nice view over the city

  • Go to the beach and relax

  • Take the cable cart to go on top of the moutain and get a view over the city

  • Watch the old clock tower every hour

  • Go to Fontain square ofter 8 o clock to see an nice water spectacle

  • Go out. every night there are partys and live music in the restaurants

Gori:

What we did, what we recommend:

  • Stalin museum: take an tour from Tbilisi or go from Gori to the museum, see some of his history and his old house and train. for an extra paying you can get also a view inside the train. ₾10 gel for museum and ₾5 for the train.

  • Uplistsikhe: this is an old cave complex with an old basilica from the 8/9 century, its really hot up here but take your time to enjoy the view over the landscape and river mtkvari. its incredible humans made this so long ago. entrance fee is ₾7 gel. its also protected by Unesco.

Kazbergi:

What we did, what we recommend:

We took an day tour from Tbilisi but if we could do it over we prever and shared taxi or one way ride by bus, so we could stay 1 or 2 days more.

  • The Jvari river lookout. here come 2 rivers together where the leave as one. this in the first stop when you leave from Tbilisi

  • The military highway, this is an beautifull highway made by russions. this is the road to Kazbergi

  • Ananuri: this is an monastry with an gread past. they had the highest defence tower of the country and for long this work till one time the light it up from the inside. the monastry is still in use.

  • Gudauri: in the winter time its good for a skii resort, in the summer for paraglyding. this monument is given by the russions for the friendly relationship the have know. from here you have a nice view over the mountains

  • Gudauri minaral water source: this you find next to the road. this water has a lot of calsium and is natural sparkling and good for health.

  • Kazbergi city center: here you can stay for hiking or go to Russia.

  • Gregeti Thrinity Church: This is probelly the most famous church of Georgia, this is the national symbol of Georgia. this church has an hight of 2400 meter and you can get from here an hike al the wat to the top of the mountains or just walk around and enjoy the view, and the wealth in the church.
