Small road trip around the island

We left in the morning to the west side of the island. With as first destination Cefalù. An small and beautiful city famous for the beaches and the mountain where you can hike on. Only they closed the mountain at the moment for renovations unfortunately.

After an shirt city stop we head up to Palermo. The capital city. Here you have to see the Beauty in the mess. It’s very crowded, dirty and ugly. But this all give the city its charms. We agent you as first to the cathedral of Palermo. What gives us an great view over the city and to the palace, “ Palazzo dei Normanni “ known by the golden roofs.

From here we went for an short walk to an creepy and strange place. “ Catacombe dei Cappuccini “. The name will already tell you where this is about. It’s really strange to see all this death rolls underground. We where happy to get out. After we went for our last stop Palermo, we went to piazza Caracciolo and place where you can find a lot of street art and markets. This place used to be one of the most visited places in the city. Now there you can find only local people buying there fish in the morning and eating and drinken in the evening.

From Palermo to Trapini. The last stop, first we went to our appartment to drop the stuff and car. Because it was already late and we where hungry we first went to an restaurant. After we did an small walk around the historical city center.

the next morning we first went with an cable Cart from the city Trapini to the city Erice. This city is based on top of an maintain on a hight of 800 Meters. Here we went for an breakfast and an walk to the castle in the highest place of of the city. With an amazing view over the salt lakes.

wat brings us to the next stop. Trapini is famous for the salt lakes on the coast al the way to masala. We went for an stop to see how they make it and taste the fresh sea salt that they make here, most of the work is still by hand!

we took an good lunch at masala with ofcourse the locale wine. Before we heading to “ Scale del Tulchi ”

bacause it was to crowded we only took an picture and headed up to the “ Valle del Templi”. This park is also UNESCO protected and already more then 2500 years old. Bacause it was already late on the evening we could make great pictures with daytime and night time and also with a great sunset. We walked around for 3 hours before we went back to our hotel for the last night at sicilia.
